Remember How Far You've Come, Not How Far You Have to Go!!!

The Bible is filled with examples of how God uses a long process to develop character, especially in leaders. He took eighty years to prepare Moses, including forty in the wilderness. For 14,600 days Moses kept waiting and wondering, "Is it time yet?" But God kept saying, "Not yet."

Great souls are grown through struggles and storms and seasons of suffering. Be patient with the process.

Don't get discouraged. When Habakkuk became depressed because he didn't think God was acting quickly enough, God had this to say: "These things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!" (Habakkuk 2:3 LB)

Remember how far you've come, not just how far you have to go. You are not where you want to be, but neither are you where you used to be. God isn't finished with you so keep moving forward. Even the snail reached the ark by persevering!

你對神作了甚麼承諾？是否答應多禱告、作見證、作十一奉獻，還是放棄某種關係或惡習呢？你要得釋放就要守約，所以今天就走到神的跟前，求祂寬恕並再接再勵。如果你可以彌補過去的錯失，就採取行動；如果你不能，那就悔改，把罪放在耶穌的寶血下，並在往後的日子做得更好。


求神把你陶造成一個守約的人。

Maturity is a Process

Christlikeness is your eventual destination, but your journey will last a lifetime. This journey involves believing (through worship), belonging (through fellowship), and becoming (through discipleship). Every day Jesus wants you to become a little more like him: "You have begun to live the new life, in which you are being made new and are becoming like the One who made you." (Colossians 3:10a NCV)

Today we're obsessed with speed, but God is more interested in strength and stability than swiftness. We want the quick fix, the shortcut, the on-the-spot solution. We want a sermon, a seminar, or an experience that will instantly resolve all problems, remove all temptation, and release us from all growing pains.

But real maturity is never the result of a single experience, no matter how powerful or moving. Growth is gradual. The Bible says, "Our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him." (2 Corinthians 3:18b Msg)

聖經記載首位作十一奉獻的就是亞伯拉罕，後來當他面臨窮途時，神就對他說：「亞伯蘭，你不要懼怕！我是你的盾牌」，意即「我是你的保護，使你免受通漲、盜賊、失業、疾病以及企圖奪去你的祝福之東西傷害。」神接著說：「(我)必大大地賞賜你。」在我認識的研經導師當中，最了不起的鮑伯‧楊殿安指出「大大地賞賜」按希伯來語有特別的意義：「大大地」其實是指「飛快地增長」，而「賞賜」就是指「財源」。當亞伯拉罕有需要時，神就在異象中顯現，對他說：「我是你的盾牌，你的財源必滾滾增長」，哈利路亞！

我們都是亞伯拉罕的後裔，又是應許的繼承人，理論上我們都有權領受同樣的祝福，但緊記亞伯拉罕作了十一奉獻，如果你並沒堅持十一奉獻，我就鼓勵你為此祈禱，並以行動順服神的旨意。

Confession Leads to Transformation--Rick Warren

God allows a crisis to get our attention, and then he uses the crisis to develop our character. One thing that signals we're changing is when we confess that we are the problem. We stop blaming other people and we admit, "I am the problem with my life." Until you understand this, there can be no major change in your life. This is the breakthrough God knows we need...............................................

Here's the insight into this: We will never be able to change until we openly and honestly and authentically admit our sin, our weakness, our fault, our frailty, our character defects, confessing this to ourselves, to God, and to other people.

What do you need to admit about yourself?

 God's Rescue Often Takes Time

When God allows a crisis into your life, He doesn't solve it immediately. He lets it go on for a while because he wants to see if you're really serious about seeking him. If God answered your prayers immediately, you'd begin to think God was a big vending machine: put in a prayer, pull out whatever you need.

If you're in a crisis right now, hang in there! Don't give up. The problems you have in your life didn't get those overnight. You may have worked years getting yourself into this mess. You have a lot of ingrained patterns, bad responses, wrong habits, and wrong ways of responding that have built up over the years. So God won't remove those all at once. It's like peeling an onion. He takes off one layer at a time.
